Caramel Squares

I don't have a real sweet tooth but I do love these they are so easy to make and are a yummy treat, good with a cuppa.
If you prefer melt the Chocolate over a pan of boiling water if you are worried you may burn the chocolate.
You may like to add some baking paper to top of biscuit base with dried Beans and cook for 10 mins then take them our and cook for further 5mins


Biscuit base
1- 1/2 cups plain flour
100gms butter
1-1/2 tablespoons caster sugar
1 egg
Caramel
approx 3 tablespoon Water
400 gms can condensed milk
1 tablespoon golden syrup
Chocolate
120 gms cooking chocolate
40 gms butter

Biscuit
Blend flour sugar and butter in food processor then add the egg and water to make a dough.
refrigerate in plastic wrap for about 15 mins roll out and line greased tin .
Bake at 200 degrees C for 15 mins
Caramel
Combine the condensed milk, butter,and golden syrup in a pot , stir over a low heat till butter melts and mixture thickens "Don't Burn"pour over the biscuit base.
Bake for further 10 mins Cool .(make sure it is nice and firm)
When cool add the chocolate
Mix the chocolate and butter in a small bowl, microwave till it melts (look in the microwave every 15 seconds and stir till melted."Don't Burn ")
