Mixed Pickle

When I was a youth one of my first recipes I made was this pickle.The secret is to soak the vegetables in brine for 24 hrs, I love the pickle on salada biscuits with cheese or with cornbeef.
Remember to wash the jars in hot soapy water rinse in hot water and place in the oven to dry this will sterilise

1kg Vegetables (cauliflour,beans,onion,cabbage,choko&green tomatoes)
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 tablespoon mustard
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon curry powder
3 cups vinegar

Brine
1 cup salt
1 Litre water

Mix water and salt to make a brine
Wash peel and dice vegetables small, add to brine
Soak in brine 24 hrs
Drain and wash all the salt from the vegetables
Blend dry ingredients with some of the vinegar,combine it with the vegetables and add remaining vinegar.
Bring to the boil stirring all the time and remove from heat, place in sterilised jars.
