White Sauce & Variations

There are many uses for a white sauce I use this recipe when I make roulades, lasagna,voluvants,stuffed pancakes,tuna mornay and cauliflower and cheese sauce to name a few.
This is a basic recipe that can be developed into sauce variations
Add 1 tablespoon parsley for a parsley sauce
Add grated cheese for a cheese sauce
Depending on how many I am cooking for I often double the mix

1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoon Flour
1cup milk
S/p

Melt butter in a pot remove it from the heat,add flour and stir till a smooth paste
Place back on stove and stir for 1 minute
Add milk and stir with wooden spoon till mixture boils and thickens making sure you have no lumps cook 1-2 minutes stirring continuously
