Baked Caramel Pears

Pears have delicate flavour and this recipe certainly enhances them.
Its only takes a couple of minutes to prepare.


5 firm ripe pears
60 gms melted butter
2 tablespoons plain flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/2 cup brown sugar

Peel and halve the pears scoop out the core
Run a fork over the back of the pears to score them so flavours pentrate
Arrange cut side down in greased baking dish.
Combine the remaining ingredients and spread over each pear
Bake for 10 mins at 200degrees C then reduce to 180degrees C for 15 minutes.
Serve with custard or cream
