Winter Pea and Ham Soup

Pea and ham soup weather is cold,so I recomend you walm yourself up with this nourishing soup
This is one of my winter favourites,I make plenty because it improves in flavour the next day

1 Cup split peas
1 litre water
Bacon bones or Hock
1 Carrot
1 Stick celery
1 Small onion
S/P
Place Celery carrot and onion in a pan and fry gently for about a minute
Add split peas
Add water and bacon bones and bring to the boil and gently simmer about 40 minutes
remove bacon bones or hock puree pea mix if you need
Take meat off bone add meat back into soup cook simmering till thickens up slightly
